When you engage Carraig Creative Writing and Editorial Services, you are hiring a professional. The work you receive will be professional quality, and as such, the rates may not fall into the price range that you have budgeted or had estimated the work would cost.

There are many things that impact the cost of an assignment, including preparation or research time, correspondence with a client, draft copies, revisions, and a final delivery. There is also no substitute for experience and skill, which is what you get with every project.

You may very well find cheaper rates for the work you require. But you will not find a company that delivers better quality, reliability, and customer care, than Carraig Creative Writing and Editorial Services.

Keyword Articles - Density and number of keywords to be decided with the client. Articles of 250-300 words are priced at $7-$9, according to the amount of preparation/research required. Quotes for longer keyword articles on request.

General Articles - Information, news, descriptive articles, editorials, columns, and trivia pieces are priced at $25 for up to 500 words. Topics requiring substantial research can cost up to $50. Quotes for articles of different sizes, on request.

General Editing - Letters, documents, dissertations, school assignments, brochures, company literature, and short fiction is priced at $2.50-$5 a page, depending on the nature of the material, and the length of the document. - ***Please note: We require text for editing to be delivered in Word document format, Times New Roman 12 pt. font and double spaced.

Book Editing - Please inquire for rates, which will vary with the size of the manuscript, and the type of editing you have chosen. A proofread/spell-check edit will be less expensive than a full edit with red-tracked changes and running notes on the content. A good rule of thumb is to use the General Editing rate as a maximum.

Writing Consultations - For writers unsure whether they are going in the right direction with a work, or would like an assessment of the work to date, we offer various packages including a read-through of the entire manuscript with notes on the content/story development and areas that need attention. Rates for this are based on the book length in words, due to the time required to read it and then prepare notes. An alternative would be submitting an outline of the book's plot along with the first 50 double-spaced pages, which will be read, red-track edited, and returned with notes on the content, story development, presentation, and any other areas of concern. This service is $150.

Statement of Work / Contract - Prior to accepting any assignment, the terms and conditions will be fully discussed with the client, and confirmed either through a signed and faxed contract, or an email acceptance.

Payment - New client assignments require a 50% deposit, with the balance to be paid within 48 hours of delivering the final product. In the case of larger assignments, we may require 50% down, 25% at the halfway point, and the final 25% on completion. Please do not take this personally, but as an independent business, we have been stung several times by clients who did not pay for work received. We are currently accepting payment of cash or credit card, only through Paypal. Long-term clients may be permitted to make other arrangements.

Acceptable Assignments - Carraig Creative can meet almost any writing requirement you have. However, there are some areas we do not handle, including erotica, and copy for sexual enhancement products. Also, while we do edit student assignments from high school through to graduate school, we will not write the assignment for you. Our role is to show you how to make the most of your own work, and not to do it for you. From time to time, we may place a "moratorium" on particular topics, as these tend to run in cycles. For example, if we are getting dozens of requests for keyword articles on houseplants, then after a while it becomes difficult to write anything that is fresh and different, and so these will temporarily be taken off our available topics list.
