As a published author myself, I know the value of having someone outside of your work to give it that final going over. When a writer is intensely involved with a topic or characters, it is hard to be subjective about the overall product, let alone such things as punctuation and grammar.
Carraig Creative Writing and Editorial Services offers comprehensive editing options for all kinds of written material, including speeches, advertisements, brochures, articles, editorials, columns, interviews and books in both fiction and non-fiction.
We provide estimates for articles, books, and dissertations which can be a simple proofreading and edit for spelling/grammar, or a full edit with or without red-tracked changes in Word document format, along with notes on content, flow, and any organizational or plot development concerns. If pressed for time, we also offer a "ghost-writing" edit in which all changes are incorporated into the text.
A number of our clients are businesses from outside continental North America, which has resulted in our specializing in editing of text that has been translated into English, as well as documents written in English by clients for whom it is a second language.
Because most editorial jobs are performed under Non-Disclosure Agreements, we are unable to post many examples. However, below you will find some of the books that we have worked on, and the feedback from their authors.

Asylum", by David Williams. Psychological thriller.
"Twilight In Between", by David Williams. Psychological thriller.
Wow. Carraig really went above and
beyond, even going so far as to "re-write" the opening chapter
to give me a better idea of how it could flow should I decide to alter
my typically staccato style. We''ve continued to communicate via email
and I will certainly use Carraig on all my future projects.-
David Williams, author
"Teaching the D.I.C.",
the Discipline of Intimacy and Communication, by Terry Smith. Personal
development.
A few words of Gratitude and Appreciation
for my Editor. Completing and launching a new book is not only a process
of writing about life's experiences and lessons. It also requires assembling
those experiences, lessons and thoughts in a manner that tells a story.
My ability to tell the story enunciated in the book "Teaching the
D.I.C." required that I reach out and utilize the services and talents
of a number of people. One person I specifically want to mention is my
editor Betty Sleep. While writing a book it is easy to get locked into
a certain writing style that may not be appropriate for the entire book
or different ideas I am trying to highlight in the book. As a result, I
needed someone to correct my errors. Whether it's the meaning of a word,
sentence or paragraph my editor has been indispensable in the process of
making sure what is written on the page is exactly what I want so say.
She is responsive, smart and does not hesitate to tell me where she thinks
I can make a thought, idea or story more clear.- Terry Smith, author
"The
Elements of Successs", by Nisandeh Neta. Personal Development.
"The Art of
Lovemaking", by Nisandeh Neta.
Carraig did a great job,
and for a very reasonable price - she offered more than just proofreading.-

"My Romantic Spell", by Rodney Robbins. Young adult fiction.
"Immaculate Deception", by Natalie Kingsford-Smith, adult
fiction/humour (in production)
A great person to work with, responsive, flexible,
and possesses a great nose for the right words...I look forward to working
with her again. I give her a ten out of ten.- Natalie Kingsford-Smith,
